The Tivoli Youth Guard is Tivoli’s own guard

Tivoli Youth Guard

The 100 children who now make up the Tivoli Youth Guard are the current face of a tradition stretching back to 1844, when the world’s first youth guard was formed as a “Lilliputian Military”.

After Tivoli opened successfully in 1843, its founder, Georg Carstensen, decided to give himself a Tivoli Youth Guard as a birthday present for Tivoli’s second season – and so it came to pass.

Singalong and nostalgia with the Promenade Orchestra

On Tuesday afternoons we offer singalongs, old classics and classic masterworks when Tivoli's 16-piece Promenade Orchestra relive popular tunes under the two themes of Film music & Musicals and Lymbye & Strauss.

Every Saturday, when the sun goes down and the lights are switched on in the treetops, Tivoli's Big Band transforms the grassy area next to Plænen - the Open Air Stage - into a lively dance floor when both amateur and professional dancers can let their hair down.
